WHITEHALL, Feb. 19.
TUESDAY night Richard Neville, Esq; Secretary to his Majesty's Embassy at the Court of France, arrived with the Definitive Treaty of Peace. signed at Paris on Thursday the 10th instant, by his Grace the Duke of Bedford. the Duke de Praslin, and the Marquis de Grimaldi ; ambassadors extraordinary, and plenipotentiaries on the part of his Majesty the most Christian King, and the Catholick King : To which Mr, Mello, ambassador, and minister plenipotentiary of his most Faithful Majesty, (of Portugal) acceded the same day.
Feb. 22. It is said Richard Neville. Esq: who brought over the Definitive Treaty, received from the King a Present of 5000l. and that it was ratified by his Majesty last Wednesday.
We are informed that every thing in the East-Indies was settled to the entire satisfaction of both nations.
We hear that we are to remain in possession of Martinice and Gaudaloupe 3 months longer, from the 1st of April, and to have some other considerable advantages for 3 months longer after that, till the 1st of October.
A Letter was sent to the Lord Mayor from the Earl of Egremont, Secretary of State, with the News that the Treaty was signed.
