Highlights Day
The grand jury's report was the highlight of the opening day of the regular March term of the county criminal court, presided over by Judge Burgwyn, of Woodland.

The judge sentenced Missouri Galloway, negress number racket leader, to six months on the county farm.

The woman was found guilty in recorder's court of operating a numbers racket after her arrest by SBI and local law enforcement officers last December. She filed notice of appeal of the superior court decision, but in court yesterday withdrew notice of the appeal and accepted sentence from Judge Burgwyn.

Other matters considered by the court yesterday were:
Bettie Steinn, violation of the liquor laws; continued; Ivory Bozeman, assault with intent to commit rape, continued; Plummer McDonald, murder, continued; Jimmie Lee Nelson, murder, continued; Tom Murray, assault on a female, continued; B. G. Davis, abandonment and non-support, continued.
