Full Text

Nearly Neat.—A stranger remarked the other day that he had seen most of the mountain towns of California, but had yet to find one with better graded sidewalks or more neatly kept streets than Weaverville. We believe he was justified in the remark. The street-sprinkling season has commenced, and every Saturday the accumulated rubbish of the week is removed from Main and Court streets, thanks to Mr. Blackwell. The shade trees which have been planted from year to year are beginning to be serviceable, for under their spreading branches loungers smoke away these sweltering days.
