CIRCULAR LETTER BEING SENT TO MEMBERS OF BLUE LODGE URGING THEM TO VISIT CHICAGO
Circular letters are being mailed to the members of the Blue lodge, F. & A. M., today, urging them to make arrangements to attend the triennial conclave of the Knights Templars to be held in Chicago, August 7th to 12th.
Every member of the Blue Lodge within the jurisdiction of Montrose commandery is invited, whether he receives one of the circular letters or not. Three special coaches on the Copper Range have been engaged for the Calumet party, and three more on the same train will be for use of the members of Palestine Commandery and others, besides the Copper Range special cafe car and a baggage car.
About sixty-five local members and ladies have already arranged to attend.
The following is the letter which is being sent to the members of the Blue lodge.
Yourself and ladies are cordially invited to join the pilgrimage of Montrose Commandery, No. 38, Knights Templar, to Chicago, August 7th to 12th, 1910.
The Headquarters of Montrose Commandery in Chicago is the Auditorium Hotel, corner of Michigan Avenue and Congress street. Ample accommodations will be provided for all accompanying the Commandery. Headquarters of Grand Commandery of Michigan will be at Congress Hotel Annex, corner Michigan Avenue and Congress street.
The Grand Stand is on Michigan Avenue, opposite these hotels, capable of seating 50,000 people.
The parade will pass these two hotels. There will be sixteen divisions in the parade—Michigan Commanderies will be in the eighth division.
Ladies unaccompanied will receive especial attention of members of the Commandery.
Special train leaves via Copper Range and Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroads Sunday evening, August seventh, at six p. m., arriving in Chicago August Eighth, 7:30 a. m. Diagram of sleeping cars are now in the hands of Captain-General, Sir James G. McCallum. Room 3, Calumet State Bank building. Reservations can also be made by telephoning him at either 671-J or 304-L. All reservations should be made at an early date, and prior to August Sixth, so that tickets can be ready at depot when applied for before departure of train.
Supper will be served on the car Miscowaubik immediately on leaving Calumet. All who desire supper on the train should notify the Captain General at time of making reservations and not later than Aug. 6th.
Round trip ticket to Chicago, one fare and a third—or $14.85, Berth $2.50 extra. Tickets good leaving Chicago to return August 16, 1910. Return limit can be extended to September Sixth by depositing ticket with joint agent, Room 422, Railway Exchange, Building, Chicago, before noon August 16th, upon payment of fee of Fifty Cents.
See that your baggage is distinctly marked with your name and name of Hotel, Auditorium, Chicago, where it is to be delivered. A member of the Commandery will be appointed to take charge of the baggage and see it safely delivered.
