Adolph Demsky Denies Charge But Stein Will Investigate.
Adolph Demsky, arrested Monday night by Patrolman August Schoenrath when he was swaggering through the west-side streets and offering to lick the entire population, received a distinct surprise when he was arraigned before Police Justice Stein on the charge of disturbing the peace.
"You're a deserter from the navy, aren't you?" asked the judge.
Adolph insisted that he was not, but admitted that he had been sent back as a deserter in April, 1907.
"I've served out my time, now, and just got back here," he said.
Justice Stein ordered him held in the jail until Saturday, and will investigate Adolph's status with the navy.
