Full Text

Health of New Orleans.—The New Orleans papers assure absentees from that city that they may return with perfect safety, and without any fear of sickness. The Bulletin of the 2d instant has the following: We have now entered the month of October, and can still congratulate our citizens at home and abroad on the continued excellent health of the city. The equinoctial gale occurred on Friday night last, continuing through Saturday and Sunday, and with it a very sudden change in the weather, which has been most bracing and pleasant ever since. We believe there is now as little danger (either for resident or stranger) of contracting illness in New Orleans as in any spot in the Mississippi Valley.
