VALLEY BEND WINNERS
List of Schools and Scholars in the School Day Contest.
The District School Day for Valley Bend District which was held April 18, proved very successful.
The following schools won the six capital prizes of five dollars each.
Shavers Run School $5.00
Wilson School $5.00
Steiner School $10.00
Thomas School $5.00
Crawford School. $5.00
The following won individual prizes on arithmetic:
Seventh and Eighth Grades
Hazel Salisbury. 1st prize $1.50
Howard Mundell, 2nd prize $1.00
Sixth Grade
Herbert Shreve, 1st prize $1.50
Neil Wamsley, 2nd prize .50
Flota Shreve, 2nd prize .50
(Agreed to divide.)
Fourth and Fifth Grades
Elmer Crouch $1.75
Josephine Delaney $1.75
