New officers were elected, when the Tea and Topics Study Club was entertained on Friday afternoon by Mrs. Neill McLauchlin at her home.

Mrs. A. M. Shaw was elected president succeeding Mrs. B. P. Gentry, and Mrs. John W. Spears was made secretary-treasurer following Mrs. Shaw. Mrs. W. B. Hunter will be the program chairman, a position she filled this year.

Nominations were made by a committee headed by Mrs. W. P. Byrd and Mrs. W. R. Cranford.

No program was scheduled since the club dispatched a variety of business matters.

The McLauchlin home was beautifully decorated with white and pink roses. Sprays of white roses bordered the mirrored mantel and pink roses were used on the tables.

At the social hour the hostess served strawberry shortcake and coffee on individual serving trays garnished with green leaves.

Guests other than members present were Mrs. Ralph Izard, Mrs. W. F. Handley, Mrs. O. S. Atkins, and Miss Cornelia McLauchlin.

Members present were Mrs. Gentry, Mrs. Byrd, Mrs. McLauchlin, Mrs. R. K. Footman, Mrs. S. R. McKay, Mrs. Alton G. Johnson, Mrs. W. M. Bryan, and Mrs. A. M. Shaw.

Four members were absent.
