Destructive Fire.—About half past 7 o'clock last evening, our Fire Companies were again called to active duty. A fire having broke out in the cabinet maker's shop of John D. Raikes, in the rear of 29, Division street, which was entirely destroyed. It spread with great rapidity to the following buildings; Francis Miller, fancy dress store, the same number as Mr Raikes. No. 27 occupied by Alfred Jones, basket-maker, destroyed: Daniel Froome, same number, do. No. 25, occupied by Wm. Bath and Mrs. Elizabeth Winter, destroyed. No. 33 1-2, occupied by Wm. Montgomery, carver, destroyed. No. 33 occupied by John C. Sparling, Tailor, do. No. 31, occupied by Mr Stevenson, do. No. 35, occupied by Jesse Hardwick, do. No. 37, occupied by Mr. Patrick, Image manufacturer, destroyed. No. 39. occupied by Mrs. Susan Porly, as a boarding-house, destroyed. No 23, occupied by Mr. Bogards and Mrs. Miller, much injured. No. 21, occupied by Mrs. Kennedy, Miller, much damaged. N. 43. occupied by Mr. Joseph Donaldson, sadler, much injured. No. 41, slightly. Several buildings in the rear, used as workshops, and sheds were destroyed. The fire spread with such rapidity. (the buildings being all of wood.) that with one exception considerable furniture was [saved]—Comt, Adv.
