BOSTON, APRIL 3.

The Committee of the officers belonging to the Navy and Marine Corps, held a meeting at the house of Com. Shaw, in Boston, on Monday last, Mid. Jesse Smith was appointed to supply the vacancy occasioned by the melancholy death of that valuable and highly respected young officer, Mid. William Boden, who was lost in the schr. Quaker.

Communications having been received from officers in other stations, the Committee thought it advisable to proceed to the appointment of delegates to represent the officers on this and the Portsmouth stations, in a general Convention, contemplated to be holden at New-York, on the fourth day of July next, for forming a Constitution and organizing an Association, to be composed of officers in the Naval service, for the relief and support of the widows and families of such officers as may be killed in battle, or die while in the service of the country.

Com. Isaac Hull, and Capt. Robert Wainwright, Marine Corps, were appointed to represent this station; and Lieut. Com'dt. John Porter to represent the Portsmouth station.
