Nearly 3,000 persons raised their hands Monday night and ended the Goodyear Aircraft Corp. strike in its 64th day.
The membership of Local No. 856 of the United Automobile Workers-CIO, voted unanimously by a show of hands to accept a hard-won settlement.
The union's bargaining committee, which reached an agreement with the company about 5 A. M. Monday in Cleveland, recommended that the membership accept the settlement.
Each committeeman took his turn before the microphone in Goodrich Local No. 5 hall to recommend concurrence.
It was a turnaway crowd. Had the hall been larger it might have held some 4,000 Goodyear Aircraft workers who last Sept. 21 in the Rubber Bowl took a standing vote to strike.
President Ray Fowler told the membership that it could have either a secret ballot or a standing vote upon acceptance.
The vote for a show of hands, accepted in lieu of a standing vote because of the crowded conditions, was unanimous.
Some 5,000 have been on strike at Aircraft.

Each wage classification, a two-year contract to expire Aug. 8, 1954, reopening of the contract for wages upon 10 days' notice, selection of an arbiter by Jan. 2, 1953, and establishment of a learner classification wherever found necessary.
The accepted contract was reached after the United States mediation and conciliation service assigned a panel of three to keep at it.
