Bernard Gibbs of this place has announced himself as a candidate for the office of county attorney in Somerset county, and is now busy securing the necessary names to place him on the Republican party ballot at the primary election. Mr. Gibbs was in the field at the last Republican county convention in Skowhegan, and would have received the support of the Madison delegation had he not refused to allow his name to come up for nomination. He is well known in this section of the county, and has a host of friends who will give him a strong backing.
