Full Text
According to report from Juneau, the territorial treasurer has probably disposed of the wolf pelts accumulated in his keeping under the terms of the bounty law, which has been in effect since last spring. The treasurer sent out a circular letter to fur dealers inviting bids by mail for his stock. The bids were to be opened last Saturday, and the pelts sold to the highest bidder.
There were twenty-seven of the pelts—
Which would lead to the conclusion that, up to the present at least, even this act of the territorial legislature may hardly be termed a howling success.
