Distressing Accident.—

On Thursday last, Mr. Absolom Delaughter, a respectable planter of this District, whilst on a gunning excursion with a number of gentlemen, and within a mile of his own house, was shot with his rifle, which he had loaded and stood by his right side. His dog whilst playing around him, is supposed to have touched the cock which caused the explosion of the cap. The ball entered his right side, and lodged in his right shoulder, he expired in about half an hour. Mr. Delaughter has left a wife, five children, and a number of relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death.
