Full Text

The King of France wants money.
The new edict which he has obliged the
Parliament to register, cuts a ridiculous
figure. The Dutch will not be so fond of
lending him money as they were wont to do.
The one hundred and twenty millions which
are to be raised for the services of the ensuing
year, he may be assured will not be aided by
the Hollanders ducats, as has formerly been
the case. The assistance usually afforded
him by these Provinces on similar occasions,
has been of no small importance: at this
time he will materially want it, and want
I believe he may.
