Honolulu Letter Carriers.

Letter carriers were sent out from the Honolulu postoffice on August 14 for the first time in the history of the islands, though actual free delivery of mail was not then begun. The letter carriers were sent out to familiarize themselves with the streets and house numbering, to apprise householders of the beginning of the free delivery system, and to secure a practically complete mail census of the city.—Pittsburg Chronicle-Telegraph.
