DYNAMITE IN TONG WAR

Explosion Caused Much Damage but No One Is Hurt.

New York, June 25.-Dynamite was used for the first time in the history of local Chinese hostilities when an attempt was made to destroy the headquarters of the On Leong tong by placing a bomb in front of an altar in a meeting room.

The explosion shattered windows and ornaments and studded the walls with nails and iron fragments with which the bomb was loaded. No one was injured.

Earlier in the evening in a nearby resort Wong Wong, a member of the Hip Sing tong, was shot and dangerously wounded. Six Chinese were arrested.
