Continuation of Miscellaneous Intelligence, received by late arrivals.

LONDON, Feb. 24.

SOUTH AMERICA.

The following list of the staff of the South American army is handed about in military circles. Probably it is not quite correct; we shall present it as soon as possible.

Commander in chief, Lieut. Gen. Whitelocke;
second in command, Major-General Gower, 63d regiment; Brigadier-General Acland, foot guards;
Beresford, 8th regiment;
Sir S. Auchinleck, 10th foot;
Lord Blayney, 89th regiment;
Crawfurd, 60th; deputy adjutant general, Lieutenant-Colonel Torrens, 59th regiment; assistant ditto, Major Trotter, 83d; deputy quarter-master-general, Major Krauter, 71st foot; assistant ditto, Major Tucker, 22d foot; inspector of hospitals, Dr. Gordon; deputy commissary-general, Major Lindsay.

Captain Hall of the 59th, is appointed one of the aides-de-camp to General Whitelocke.

The paymaster-general, military secretary, majors of brigade, & some of the aides-de-camp, are not yet appointed.

That fine corps, the 59th, commanded by Colonel Lord Blayney, as well as the troop of horse-artillery, were yesterday embarked at Portsmouth. The baggage of the commander in chief was likewise sent on board yesterday, from the Isle of Wight.

Under an officer of such activity and enterprise as General Whitelocke, we are confident there will be no delay.

Detachments and recruits for the 35th, 40th, 47th, 83d, 87th and 88th, were yesterday embarked for South-America.

The army of South-America now will consist of the royal engineers and artificers, a detachment.

The royal horse-artillery, 1 troop.

The royal artillery, 4 companies.

The 9th light dragoons, commanded by Honourable Colonel Mahon; 17th ditto by Lieutenant-Colonel Lloyd; 20th ditto 6 troops, by Major Blake; 21st ditto 2 troops, by
5th foot by Lieutenant-Colonel Davie;
36th foot -
Burne; 48th foot by Vassall;
40th foot by Browne; 45th foot by
Guard; 47th foot by
Backhouse;
54th flank companies by
71st foot, Lieutenant-Colonel Pack; 83d foot by Major Trotter; 87th foot by Lieutenant-Colonel Sir E. Butler; 88th foot by Lieutenant-Colonel Duff; 90th foot by Colonel Lord Blayney; 95th rifle corps, 5 companies, by Major M'Lean;
and a detachment of the royal waggon corps.

We hear that a field officer of the royal engineers, as well as of the artillery, will accompany General Whitelocke.

It is now thought the 5th, 18th and 83d, which at one time were intended to go and join the South-American army, will not now proceed there, General Whitelocke having declared that he waited only for the 89th, in addition to the force already out, and that he conceives this formidable force sufficient for any service there.
