Dawson Piles Up Gain of 21 Pct. In Net Earnings

Secretary J. C. Hanson and Roy Lindahl were reelected to the board of directors of the Lac Qui Parle Cooperative Oil Co. at the association's 16th annual meeting in Dawson, Minn., Feb. 4. Sales for the year totaled $148,598, highest in the co-op's history and net earnings were $13,530, a gain of $2,352, or 21 percent, in earnings. Net earnings, in fact, increased from 7.9 percent of sales to 9.1 percent, further testimony to the efficient operation of this growing cooperative, of which Louis Sandbakken is manager. A 9 percent patronage refund was declared, bringing to $130,446 the total refunds to members and patrons since the co-op was organized in 1924. Chief speaker at the meeting was A. J. Smaby, general manager of Midland Cooperative Wholesale.
