U.N.C. WILL RETURN TO QUARTER SYSTEM

Chapel Hill, Oct 8--A new calendar with the exact date for the return to the peacetime quarter system on the University of North Carolina campus here was announced today by Chancellor and Vice President Robert B. House. The decision to return to the quarter system was made by the faculty following the investigation of the Navy Pre-Flight school and the marked decrease in military personnel here within the last several weeks.

Another short term of eight weeks is scheduled for October 29 until December 21 in order to coordinate all class work before returning to the quarter system on January 3.

Meanwhile veterans taking advantage of the GI Bill of Rights, are flocking into Chapel Hill where well over 2000 are now enrolled. According to officials there will be another 200 at least for the beginning of the new short term the first of November.
