A slip, from the Mercantile Advertiser, brings the news of the passage of the Reform Bill, in the House of Peers—the votes were—

The Advertiser says—
The (London) Globe recommends that town and country meetings should be convened to arrange for a national jubilee, and names Whit Tuesday as a fitting day.
We rejoice that the bill has passed: it has saved the whole British Empire from ills that no one could think of, without shuddering. The opposition peers, so inveterate against the bill, withdrew from the House of Lords while it was under discussion, and on the third reading, did not send their proxies—this shows their fears; the sacrifice of feeling which they have made speaks louder than words, the dreadful state into which the country would have been plunged, had the bill been again rejected.
