Robbers taken.—We have the satisfaction of being able to state that the three highwaymen who robbed Mr. Taylor, of Baltimore, fifteen hundred dollars, in Guernsey County, as mentioned in our last, have been apprehended, and are safely lodged in Cambridge jail. They were taken at Newark, and Mr. Taylor's money was all found upon them except about twenty dollars. They had in possession one thousand dollars, besides what belonged to Mr. Taylor. They are said to have come from Baltimore.
The citizens near the road where the robbery was committed, have merited the highest praise. We learn that about forty men left their harvest work, and engaged in the pursuit of the robbers; and, by their public spirit and laudable diligence, they have succeeded both in recovering the money which was forcibly taken from Mr. Taylor, and in securing the persons of three daring villains. We understand that one of the robbers made an attempt to resist the party who took them, and was knocked down before he surrendered.
