OIL CO. AGENT AT TORREON.

Missing With $18,000 And Badly Wanted.

Torreon, Mar. 3.--Nothing has been heard here of the whereabouts of Charles Hickman, who left here suddenly several weeks ago and who, it is reported, got away with $18,000 while he was in Torreon for the Waters-Pierce Oil Co.

The latest development in the case is the visit to Torreon of James E. Lucy, Austin, Texas who is the manager for Texas of the American Surety Co., of New York. When seen, Mr. Lucy declined to discuss the matter further than to say: "We would like to get a line on the whereabouts of Hickman." He said that Hickman's bond was in the sum of $10,000. Mr. Lucy would not say as to whether or not formal charges had been made against Hickman. That Hickman is badly wanted and is being looked for, is evident. While here, Mr. Lucy has secured a description of Hickman and it is believed that his company will have the search for the missing man well prosecuted.
