REHEARSE FOR PAGEANT
In spite of vacation, rehearsals of the Civics Club Pageant, to be given April 14 at the Wrangell Theatre, in connection with "Getting Gertie's Garter," have been in progress this week.
This pageant, called "Uncle Sam's Peace Party," has a cast of 22 pupils from the grade school and Junior high school. Several girls and boys including Billy Boy Grant, Fred Grant, Viola Loftus, George Galvin, Eugene Galvin, Catherine Tamaree and Wilbur Moritz, will sing solos. The singing is coached by Miss Nellie Haggerty.
Dancing, also a feature of the program, is directed by Miss Frances Steele. Those who will dance are Eugene Galvin, Ruby Everson, Nadine Dobbins, George Galvin and Donna Richfield.
Tickets will be on sale Monday, April 9. The proceeds of the pageant will go to the fund being accumulated for the High School Annual.
The Civics class, made up of students of the eighth grade, are organized under the direction of Miss Wait into an organization called the Civics Club. Desiring to do some constructive work as a unit, they hit upon the plan of presenting a pageant. As there are only nine students in the club, it was necessary to call upon the talent of other classes, the 7th grade, and even the 5th and 6th grades.
