CONTROL OR INFLATION?
The most urgent job for the next month is to build pressure for the renewal of the Price Control Act without amendments and with much larger appropriations for OPA so it can do a real job against the black market and profiteers.
Congressional opposition is overwhelming but can still be overcome. Active in the fight are the CIO, American Assn. of University Women, National Council of Jewish Women, National Council of Catholic Women, National Council of Negro Women, Consumers Union, Farmers Union, League of Women Shoppers, and a score or so more, which have organized a call to action for observance of Fight Inflation Week, June 10-17.
During this week and until the Price Control Act is renewed you can tell your Congressman what you want: renewal of the act with increased funds for OPA and without inflationary amendments.
In Greenbelt the Women's Auxiliary of UFWA-CIO is organizing a petition campaign on this issue. Phone 5697 or 5156 if you plan to sign.
