CORDOVA-Tuesday's municipal election was the bitterest in the history of this city. with the largest vote on record. and the result was so close that a contest has been filed and a recount demanded. Three candidates for the office of city clerk emerged with a tie vote.
Dr. L. H. Wolfe was elected mayor, Charles Foynston, a member of the city council and Dalton Barr. city treasurer, all on the Independent ticket. On the Peoples ticket, Fred and Chester Davis were elected to the city council, Paul Bloedhorn and Sam Laurie were two votes behind the Davises.
In a three-cornered race for city clerk, Charles Ristine, K. G. Robinson and Ed Harwood tied. J. Smith was elected school director without opposition.
