Full Text
We have attended several District Courts in this Circuit and must say that we are much pleased with the bearing and appearance of our Judges.-- They form a very intellectual body of men. Judge Corwin, who presides, is, we believe, the youngest Supreme Judge on the Bench, but he is eminently well qualified for the station. On the bench he uniformly manifests true dignity, united with genuine kindness and urbanity, which added to his high accomplishments as a sound and able lawyer, make him an honor to his position. From such judges, as he and his associates, the public are safe in their trust, or the pure and able administration of enlightened justice; and we infinitely prefer the Judiciary of the new system--the Judiciary of the People, to that of the old Constitution, when favor, not merit, won station.
