Full Text

Extract of a Letter from Calvi, in the Island of Corsica.

The Malecontents are still Masters of the Field, and there is room to believe that they have great Intelligences and many Partisans in all the Towns of this Island. The 12th Instant an Officer arriv'd here from the Governor of Ajaccio, demanding a speedy Reinforcement, because the Inhabitants of that Town seem so strongly inclin'd to favour the Malecontents, that he had great room to fear that they would attempt some Coup d'Eclat; upon which a French Man of War and a Boat were immediately sent thither; and we are impatient to know what has pass'd there since.
