Sponsored by the White Shirt Society, which will be assisted by the Crazy Dog and White Horse Societies. Blackfeet tribal fraternal groups, a Christmas event of unusual magnitude will transpire in the Browning high school gym Thursday evening, December 23.
Plans for the event having been in the shaping since early this week, a general committee headed by Dick Sanderville having been at work, progress indicates that every soul of Blackfeet Reservation has good occasion to anticipate the very program to be desired.
The gym doors will open at 6 p. m. and at 7 the entertainment will be under way, the opening number to be a grand procession.
Participating will be the Browning War Mothers, Women's Eagle Society, Black Lodge Society and White Lodge Society. They will march in the order enumerated, with the American Legion post colors leading.
Highlighting the program will be the grass dance, with Indian boys and girls competing for first, second and third place.
The boys' dance will provide $4 first prize, $3 second and $2.50 third and the girls' dance $3 first prize, $2 second and $1 third.
Prizes for the largest man and woman in attendance at the program will be included in competitive numbers. With a considerable number of people from communities off the reservation present, it is believed that there will be some imposing exhibitions in these two events.
On the premise that beef is being sought by the ton, rather than by OPA ounces, there is reason to believe that an 11 p. m. and 2 a. m. plate lunch will serve as a magnet to bring greater numbers of people together.
The beef quest is in charge of Sanderville, who indicates that if he doesn't get the meat one way he will another.
