HELLO FOLKS: Did you hear "The Messiah" at the Auditorium Sunday evening? I am told it was very beautifully presented under the direction of Walter Howe. I had planned to attend but at the last moment my plans had to be changed. I know those who were fortunate to go enjoyed the rendition of the five hundred mixed voices.

With Christmas fast approaching there are many activities planned by the churches and various clubs. Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at the AME Zion Church a chorus of 30 voices will present "The King Cometh," by R. Stults, under the direction of Mrs. Blanche Fisher, assisted by Mrs. Janilee Stovall at the organ. Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. the Boys Club of the Church will hold a pre-Christmas social. Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. the Sunday School will present a program. Dec. 28 the Men's Club sponsors an anniversary program with Rev. Findlay of N.Y. as the guest speaker. And Dec. 31 is Watch Night, services starting at 10:30 p.m.

Rev. Marvin Gibson, who has accepted a call to Union Baptist Church, Cambridge, held his last Communion services with his parishioners at John St. Baptist Church last Sunday morning. He will preach his final sermon Sunday, Dec. 21, and will be tendered a farewell reception Dec. 30 at the Church.

CORRECTION. It was Mr. Freddy Bates confined to the hospital in Framingham and not the Missus.

Eddie Roundtree, son of Mr. Fleet Roundtree, was in the city last week and looked fine in his suit of Navy blue. He plans to make California his home after Uncle Sam lets him go.

WORCESTER - A large reception was given Nov. 30 in honor of Rev. Marvin Gibson, pastor of St. John Baptist Church, and his bride at the home of the bride. The couple received many beautiful and useful gifts. Rev. Gibson goes to Union Baptist Church, January, 1948.
