Full Text

Gene Boyd and Sandy Sandvigen switched posts in their park department assignments, as the popular Norseman hopped off to South Park fieldhouse and Boyd brought his toothbrush to Collins.

Boyd was a three-sport star in his prep days back in Kansas—basketball, football and swimming. In 1928, he answered the call of the wild West and mooched a job as instructor—and later as director—of Camp Denny, the park department summer camp.

After a cup of tea at Green Lake fieldhouse in the capacity of "assistant," he hiked over to South Park field for four years as headman before the switch this week.
