(Near Markville)

Harry Gebhardt and Miss Johnson of the Welfare association were calling in the eastern part of Pine county this week.

Ollie Engle was helping with the chores at Arthur Bjork's while he was at Superior.

Albin Bjork has been working for Mr. Lindgren helping fill their ice house. This week he is helping Adolf Olsen fill his.

Mrs. Claud Smith and daughter Gladys, visited Sunday afternoon with Mrs. J. Chatelaine.

Myrna Engle visited with Olga Anderson Friday.

The neighbors joined in sending a postal shower for Ebba Longstrom on her birthday. Word reached us that she has gained three pounds since she reached the sanatorium.

Olga Anderson visited with Ila Chatelaine last Thursday afternoon.

Joe Chatelle called at Ed Cooper's Saturday. He reports Mrs. Cooper able to be up but still very weak. She had a slight stroke of paralysis.

A. H. Miller took dinner at Joe Chatelle's recently. He had a bad fall last week and thinks he fractured a rib.

Pansy Schutt is working for Mrs. Ralph Ballentine.

The Red Cross received a consignment of flour this week.

(Too Late for Last Week)

Clyde Shew's chicken coop burned last week. No one knows how the fire started. He lost 24 chickens and had no insurance.

The Cloverton school was closed on account of the bus being unable to run.

Word has been received from Ebba Longstrom that she is no better and very lonesome.

Mrs. Alice Derby called on Elsie Elliott Sunday.

Ollie Engle cut his face quite badly shaving Friday and had a hard time to stop the blood.

Clarence Berg has been helping Mr. Phinn to put up wood.

The farmers have been cutting wood for the school these days.

Ollie Engle called at Charlie Bjork's Thursday on business.
