A COMING SPRINTER.

Charles Howard of Los Angeles to Compete at the Championship Games.

San Francisco Chronicle: The crack amateur runner of Southern California is Charles V. Howard of the Los Angeles Athletic club. He is a muscular young fellow and resembles Foster of the Olympic club in build and physique.

Howard started in running about four years ago. He affected the distance races, but gradually developed speed enough to meet the best sprinters.

Howard has won the hundred yard dash at all the principal athletic meetings held in Southern California during the past two years. He is a 0:10 1-5 man and will be a hard man to beat at the coming meeting of the Pacific Coast Amateur Athletic association. He is also good at all distances up to a half mile. Howard is 22 years old and a native of Los Angeles.
