UNCONSCIOUS 57 DAYS.

Kansas City, Mo., March 10.—Unconscious for 57 days from the effects of typhoid fever, Adelaide O'Dowd, 16 years old, is now being given liquid food without the use of a tube. Small quantities of food placed far back in the mouth are swallowed instinctively. Physicians explain the case, saying the typhoid bacilli which ordinarily cling to the glands of the lower alimentary canal, in this instance have invaded other parts of the body. Anti-typhoid vaccines prove ineffectual.
