CLUB ABANDONS PLAN
TO OBTAIN NATIONAL
MEETING FOR CANYON

TUCSON The Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Arizona probably will abandon their plan to try to secure the 1928 convention of the national clubs for the Grand Canyon, it was announced here following the receipt of a message by the local club from the general freight and passenger agent of the Santa Fe railway company which stated that it would be a tremendous undertaking for the state of Arizona to attempt to accommodate with the canyon facilities, from 4,000 to 5,000 women, the number expected to attend the meet.

It is thought here, however, that there may be a possibility of securing the pre-convention of the executive committee to meet at the canyon. This committee will be composed of less than 500 members.
