Mexicans Coming, The San Andreas Independent says, "A large number of the more respectable class of Mexicans are emigrating into this State from Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa. They are coming with their families, flocks and herds, for the purpose of pursuing the packing and stock raising business. On our return from Stockton, we noticed four different parties encamped on the road—one or two of which had handsome spring wagons, and large trains of pack mules to facilitate the transportation of their goods."
