ENGINEER DIES
IN TRAIN CRASH
Pennsylvania Flyer Derailed At Garland; No Passengers Injured
GARLAND, Pa., Feb. 2-(P) Eight cars of an eastbound Pennsylvania railroad flyer derailed in this northern Pennsylvania town tonight. Extent of the damage was not immediately known. The train was enroute from Erie, Pa., to Philadelphia
In Philadelphia, a Pennsylvania spokesman said the engineer of the train had been killed and the fireman badly scalded. No passengers were injured, he added.
The railroad did not disclose the identity of the dead engineer. George Daum, the railroad's ticket agent at Warren, Pa., said only the last two cars of the train remained upright.
