Full Text

An electrical storm passed over this city Tuesday night, and besides giving this city and surrounding country its first rain for a number of days, managed to do some damage. The storm put a number of telephones out of commission, and lightning struck a couple of residences quite severely.
At Phil. Comeau's a bolt came through the kitchen chimney, tearing it to pieces, sent all the ashes out of the stove and scattered it to all parts of the house, broke down some of the ceiling, pulled up some splinters from the hardwood floor, and to make things worse struck two pails that were filled with water, putting a hole in each, and the water spread all over the floor with the ashes and broken plaster. None of the occupants of the house were injured, but they received a bad scare.
Another bolt struck Ole Kjelshus' residence on Sixth street northeast, coming in along the electric wires leading to the house, tearing a hole in the siding and also making several holes in the screen on the porch. Mr. Kjelshus was temporarily stunned by the shock, but was not injured any.
The house of Wm. Misbe, located on Seventh street southwest, was also struck by lightning, which tore off some of the siding. No one was injured.
