A team of specialists will give a demonstration next week, of the product of an eight-year program to increase the value of federal airways facilities and services to the flying public. According to CAA spokesmen, the years of research and personnel training have evolved a nation-wide system of Flight Assistance Service designed for the safety and convenience of the civilian pilot. Due to the fact that this service has been developed gradually, without publicity, many airmen, especially the small plane operators with limited radio equipment, are not aware of the services that are available to them.
The demonstration, to be shown at the School Auditorium on Monday, Nov. 13, will consist of examples of Pre-flight, In-flight and Emergency Assistance services as now furnished by CAA communications stations, Weather Bureau Forecasters and traffic control units. The examples are acted out, and life and realism are injected by the use of sound effects and specially prepared lantern slides. After the demonstration, flight assistance personnel will answer questions from the audience, and an interesting movie will be shown. All airmen and the general public are invited to attend, and are assured of two hours of instructive entertainment.
