Full Text

Our Borough was thrown into quite a state of excitement on Friday afternoon, by the apprehension of a young man about 15 years of age, who had been endeavoring to induce some of his associates to join him in a plot to shoot the keeper of the State Treasury, rifle his pockets of the keys, and then rob the department. The young man was committed on the testimony of those to whom he had communicated his design; but when we take the age of the parties into consideration, the improbability of the story, and the heinousness of the offence contemplated, we are more inclined to believe the whole thing originated rather in the folly of youth than any settled determination to commit the crime.
