Yesterday his Majesty went to the House of Peers, and gave the Royal assent to the following bills, viz. The bill for granting an aid to his Majesty, by a land tax to be raised in Great-Britain, for the service of the present year. The bill to continue the duties on malt, mum, cyder, and perry, for the service of the present year. The bill to punish mutiny and desertion, and for the better payment of the army and their quarters. The bill for better regulating his Majesty's marine forces when on shore. The bill to indemnify persons, acting by order of Council, for preventing the spreading of the contagious distemper amongst the horned cattle. The bill to enable Lord George Sackville, and his issue male, to take and use the surname of Germain, pursuant to the will of Lady Elizabeth Germain, deceased. And also to several naturalization bills. His Majesty was attended by the Duke of Manchester and the Earl of Pomfret.
