Grid Fans Set For
Bowl Tilts Today

Thousands of grid fans are all set for the four big bowl games today. At Birmingham the Tennessee State Tigers, champions of the Mid-Western Conference will take the field against the strong Texas College Steers, of the Southwestern loop in the fifth annual Vulcan Bowl classic. This tilt will be played at Rickwood Field.
The Steers, coached by Alexander Durley made an impressive showing during the regular grid season losing only to Wiley and Southern. Coach Henry Arthur Kean's Tigers lost to Langston and Florida, but piled up a long string of victories over some of the top teams in the country.
The Lane College Dragons and Louisiana Normal eleven clash in the fifth annual Flower Bowl tilt this afternoon, at the Jacksonville Baseball Park, Jacksonville, Florida.
At Houston, Texas, the Prairie View Panthers and Tuskegee Golden Tigers will meet in the 18th annual Prairie View Bowl. This encounter is expected to draw more than 15,000 fans, with Head Coach W. J. "Billy" Nicks matching wits with Coach Cleve L. Abbott. This game will be played at Buffalo Stadium.
The Allen University Yellowjackets and Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls will come to grip in the first annual Cotton-Tobacco Bowl, at Memorial Stadium, Greensboro, North Carolina.
