An Explanation having been demanded of the Court of Spain, in Regard to the Destination of her Armaments, the Dutch Gazettes tell us, that the Spanish Minister has declared, that Nobody need take any Umbrage at those Armaments, as his Court means nothing more thereby than to re-establish her Marine, (which any one may know to be partly true, without being a Conjurer.) and to contribute, in other Respects, to consolidate the Peace: being firmly resolved to adhere constantly to this Maxim, so long as the other Powers of Europe do not manifest any Dispositions that may put them under a Necessity to deviate therefrom; in which Case his Catholic Majesty would not have Recourse to any other Measures than such as his Honour and Dignity would oblige him to take.
