GREENEVILLE, (T.) Oct. 18.
By a gentleman just arrived in this place from the New Purchase, we are informed that previous to his departure from that place, a company of volunteers had been raised, under the command of Col. Turk, for the purpose of dislodging some white people who are settled among the Cherokee Indians, and supposed to be engaged in dissuading the Indians from selling any of their possessions that lie west of the Hiwassee river; and it is supposed that the affair will not be terminated without the shedding of blood.
