Explosion—One of Dupont's powder mills near Wilmington, Del. blew up on the 30th inst. The noise of the explosion was heard distinctly several miles. Every part of the mill was blown to atoms. and the bodies of two men were found horribly mangled and blackened, on the bank of the creek covered with rubbish they had been blown out of the Mill with the walls. No other person was hurt. No cause can be assigned for this explosion, but it is conjectured to have proceeded from the heating of a ridge rope by friction.
