Full Text

Is There No Redress. The shameful irregularity of the United States Mail, in this outraged fraction of the Union, is a matter that the citizens should lay hold of: since it is impossible for the public press to move any one in authority on this subject.-- Scarce an issue comes from the daily press of New Orleans, without some notice of the neglect and carelessness of government officers having charge of this branch of the public service, and yet it all passes down to oblivion, and the deaf ear is turned to it. In the country we say little, because less effect is produced by our mutterings than if we said nothing. Yesterday morning we took from the office not less than ten "Eagles" from Memphis, the latest of which should have been here three days ago.
