Full Text
Putnam's Magazine, of October, has an article on Kansas politics, that reeks with the stench of the rottenest abolitionism. It would be an easy but a useless task -- to expose the silliness, ignorance or mendacity of the writer -- we prefer warning the Southern people against a publication which permits itself to be the medium of the vilest calumnies against them -- and an instrument of the most serious mischief to their rights and interests. Let it be repelled from our borders, with every other journal or magazine that cannot hold its tongue or tell the truth about slavery.
