IMPROVEMENTS.—A large number of new buildings are in process of erection in different parts of the city. The greater part of these are small and of wood, ranging in value from $200 to $500.—

There are, however, quite a respectable number of good and substantial dwellings going up. In a walk on business yesterday, we found the following in the neighborhood of each other

C. A. Hill is putting up a one story wooden dwelling at No. 50 Parkman st., for Wm. Finch. Estimated cost, $360

John Thompson, at No. 82 Parkman st., is erecting a two story dwelling. Cost $400

On the corner of Brownell and Marion sts, Mr. Edwin Williams is erecting a story and a half wooden dwelling at a cost of about $300.

A fine two story wooden dwelling has recently been put up at the corner of Perry and Garden sts.

D. Hobart, at No. 29, Cedar st. is building a two story wooden dwelling, at a cost of about $400

At No. 43, Cedar st., Wm. Gabriel has going up a substantial two story brick dwelling, which will be a well finished building. The roof will be put on this fall. Estimated cost, $1,000
