Accident.

Dr. S. H. Matheson, of this place met with a very severe accident on Monday last. He was about leaving town in a sleigh with a gentleman named Thompson, from near Sunbury, and they had hardly entered the sleigh when the horse frightened, ran away, and the Doctor was thrown upon the curb stone of the pavement, near Esq. Pringle's store, at corner of Diamond and Main street, opposite Court House. His head and face, right side, are very severely cut and bruised. As soon as possible he was removed to his office in the Brady building where he now lies. Doctor Graham was called and every attention is being given him possibly by friends. Mr. M. was lately from Michigan but we understand some of his family are at present in Saxonburg, this county. The wounds are not thought to be fatal.
