Hartford, in Connecticut, May 30.

Last Tuesday two uncommon Animals were seen in Milford, which being pursued betook themselves to the Water, and were followed by a Number of People in a small Vessel, and were taken: the Male was strangled by a Rope's being made too fast about his Neck. The Female is now alive, is big with young, and is about 14 Hands and an half high, the other was about 16 and an half. They are much of the same Colour of a Deer, and are extremely nimble, they have a Neck about the Length of a Common Horse, and short Mane, and have little short Knobs of Horns: those that have eat of the Flesh say it tastes much like Venison.----When first taken they were thought to be Elks, but they don't answer the Description given of those Animals.
